Dickson’s Octals Named M&T Bank Regional Glee Competition Champions
It was a fight to the finish as the top three groups secured their place in the finals with outstanding performances separated by just 10 points on a 600 point scale. The groups definitely brought their “A” game to our stage and captivated the judges and the SOLD OUT audience. With 950 attendees, 50+ volunteers, and 166 performers, to say Carlisle Theatre was the place to be would be an understatement!
We congratulate the Dickinson College Octals on their championship win! Their perfectly harmonized version of Hooked on a Feeling had the judges ‘hooked’ and gained them the official title 2015 M&T Bank Regional Glee Champions. In second place, was the ever dynamic, Stockapella, from Stockton University, NJ, whose command of the stage and choreography were exceptional. Villanova University’s Minor Problem rounded out the top three with dynamic performances in both the regular round and the finals.
We also want to acknowledge some additional outstanding moments in the competition. Dickinson College’s DTones gave a moving performance to secure the 4th spot of the evening. Rhapsody, representing York College, also had an extremely well–choreographed program as well as a notable rap performance by beat-boxer Dejour Hood. 54th and City charmed the audience with their tribute to oldies including: Frankie Vallie & The Four Seasons, “Sherry Baby,” high notes and all.
All of the groups participating created a most memorable evening for all who where present and we look forward to next year already!
