Congratulations to Carol Lennon, Outstanding Volunteer Service Award Recipient, at our Women United luncheon today!
Special thanks to our Guest Speaker, Jessica Becker Brewbaker, Judge, Cumberland County Court of Common Pleas & Women United Chair Person, Lisa Ritchie!
Carol Lennon was born in Columbus, Georgia. She is married to Colonel (Retired) Bert Lennon and has two sons, David and Seth. She graduated from Central Texas College with a degree in business.
As a military spouse, Carol has lived in eleven different states and Germany. During those years, she worked for BDM, a government contractor, which allowed her to transfer to the various states. The last military move was to Carlisle Barracks in 1993.
In 1997, the decision was made that Bert would retire from the military and Carlisle became their home. In that same year, Carol became Branch Manager of the Manpower office in Carlisle and would later take on the offices in Shippensburg, Chambersburg and Gettysburg. She retired from Manpower in 2014 and began volunteering in the Carlisle community.
During her time in Carlisle, she has served as the President of the Carlisle Barracks Officers Wives Club, President of the Carlisle Area Personnel Association, Chair of the CareerLink Employers Advisory Council, President of the Rotary Club of Carlisle, Chair for the Carlisle Chamber of Commerce Membership Committee, and President of the Board of Directors of Carlisle and Cumberland County United Way.
In retirement, she enjoys reading, spending time with Bert, and volunteering at the Carlisle Chamber of Commerce and the United Way of Carlisle and Cumberland County.
