2017 Campaign Kicks Off!
On Wednesday, September 13th, United Way of Carlisle & Cumberland County joined together with the community to kick off its major annual campaign effort of raising dollars for the Carlisle & Cumberland County community.
The 2017 campaign is being led by co-chairs Thomas Bream of S&T Bank and Greg Hall of Smith Elliott Kearns & Company, LLC. United Way Board President Amanda Brigaman announced this year’s goal at $1.45 million, and she shared the results from 16 Pacesetter companies announcing they’ve already raised $255,628. When combined with other early campaign gifts, the total raised for the community so far is $354,958, or around 24% of that goal.
The Pacesetter companies included: Carlisle Area School District, Carlisle Early Education Center, Crete Carrier/Shaffer Trucking, Dickinson College, Giant Food Stores, M&T Bank, Mountz Jewelers, Mowery, Orrstown Bank, Partnership for Better Health, Safe Harbour, Smith Elliott Kearns & Company, LLC, The Salvation Army, The Sentinel, Target and Turner Hydraulics.
Campaign dollars support 41 programs offered by 26 local non-profit partner agencies serving residents of Carlisle and Cumberland County. Funding applications are reviewed annually by trained volunteers. These volunteers evaluate the effectiveness of the programs before allocating the community’s resources. Many thanks to campaign kick off event sponsor, Giant Food Stores!
